Rainbow Trout
Inspired by the flash of colour that disappears just beneath the surface. Made for afternoons that turn into evenings before anyone notices.
Something you almost didn't notice. Then couldn't stop noticing.
The water has that colour around four in the afternoon. Not blue, not green, something between the two that only shows up for maybe an hour before the light shifts again. The kind of thing you notice once and then keep trying to find.
Rainbow Trout was drawn from that. The scale texture is the base layer, cool and shifting, the whole brief in it. The stripe is the thing you suddenly can't stop seeing. One band of full spectrum cutting straight through. It was always there. You just had to be looking at the right moment.
Try to be in the water when it happens.
Same spot.
Different light.
Same print. Different personalities.

Built on an illusion.

Scale texture all over.
Pulled straight from the water. The full brief, front to back, cool blues and violets that appear to shift with the light depending on where you're standing.

One stripe. Full spectrum.
Rainbow Trout is a scale-textured print, cool blues and violets shifting across it. Right at the front, one solid stripe of colour cuts straight through. There and gone. No shine to it and no shimmer, just a print that knows exactly where to put a little colour.

"The photos don't do it justice. The colour is better in person, especially when the sun hits it right."M. · Montreal
"I've bought HAC before but this is my favourite print. Gets noticed every time."Derek · Vancouver
